Middle School Summer Academy 2011
Summer school is here!
Dates: July 11th through August 4th
Days and Times: Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Breakfast at 8:40 a.m.; lunch at 12:00 p.m.
Location: Madison Middle School, 875 Wilkes Drive (the program serves all middle schools within the 4J school district).
Registration: If your child is eligible for the Middle School Summer Academy, please contact the staff development specialist at your school to register. Eligibility is by teacher recommendation only, based on district criteria. The program serves selected students who are currently in 5th, 6th and 7th grade.
Transportation: Students who live 1.5 miles or more from Madison Middle School will receive bus transportation to and from their home.
Food: Students will receive breakfast and lunch free of charge.
Teaching Team: Each classroom is staffed with one certified teacher and one instructional assistant. Twenty students per classroom. Enrollment target: 160 students.
Instructional Goal: Deliver research-based curriculum in reading, writing and mathematics to sustain or to increase performance on district and state assessments.
