Elementary TeacherVUE: Grade Book Setup > Grade Book Score Types

This screen lists all the score types set up for elementary through high school. When creating a new assignment, all these options appear under Score Type. Score Type is a required field when creating a new assignment, but it has no impact on Standards. Although you can add and duplicate score types in this screen, they will not impact Report Card.

The score type Rubric 0-4 PS, seen below, is connected to all Report Card Standards by default and cannot be changed by you. After selecting a Report Card Standard for a new assignment, the marks that can be used to score the assignment are 4.00, 3.50, 3.00, 2.50, 2.00, 1.50, 1.00, 0.50, and 0.10. You are not required to use the half-step values (x.50). If you are able to enter any other values, you are not using Standards Mode and marks will not transfer to Report Card.

The value 0.10 is only used to negatively impact a student’s overall mark when using Power Law as the report card aggregation method. Power Law is explained further under Grade Book > Grade Book Setup > Grade Book Setup > Standards.
