WIA is a federally funded program through the U.S. Department of Labor and funded locally through the Lane Workforce Partnership; WIA serves at-risk youth between the ages of 14 and 21 in a year-round program.
Participating youth must meet low-income guidelines and have at least one barrier to employment. Eugene School District operates a WIA program at Opportunity Center and provides services that emphasize high school completion, literacy improvement, career research activities, employability development and strong linkages with employers.
