We give oversight while providing approved placements for our partners. This includes providing access to our approved cooperating teachers, collaborating with our university partners on placement logistics, and streamlining our process to ensure that teacher candidates and our staff who are hosting are having positive experiences.
If a student teacher candidate decides to leave a placement early, it will be the repsonsibility of both the program and the student to communicate with the cooperating teacher (host) and the HR Student Teachers team. Students should not only send a resignation email to the host teacher. We require adequate notice to develop an exit plan that is agreed upon by all three parties. Early exit of these placements can create a significant hardship for the cooperating teacher classroom, which we try to mitigate as much as possible with our exit plans.
