Free Summer Meals for Kids
4J will not offer meals this summer due to budget reductions.
The district has collaborated with FOOD for Lane County to add additional sites for its program that provides free lunches at parks and community centers for individuals 18 years of age and younger. Its program kicks off Monday, June 22, and runs through Friday, Aug. 21. Lunches are served 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and must be eaten on-site; young children must be accompanied by an adult. Summer EBT
4J families with eligible school-aged children can receive a total of $120 per child to buy groceries during the summer when school is out.
Families receiving certain federal benefits, such as SNAP, TANF or OHP (Medicaid), will automatically receive Summer EBT benefits, as will those enrolled in migrant programs, who are experiencing homelessness or who are attending Head Start. Families who qualify automatically began receiving their benefits starting the week of June 5. Families not receiving federal benefits can apply for Summer EBT benefits, although they must meet the income guidelines to receive them. The simple application is available online or in paper form on the program website.
Visit the Summer EBT website to apply by September 1, 2026. When applying, you will be asked to provide your child’s name, school, date of birth and address. You will also be asked to report your household income.
