Eugene School District 4J is committed to the safety of our students, especially when it comes to using online resources. Therefore, all apps, software and websites (including Google add-ons and extensions as well as Canvas LTI integration) used for educational purposes in the District will now go through an approval process. Apps, software and websites will be reviewed for compliance with the Federal Laws, COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) and FERPA (Family Educational Right to Privacy Act), as well as for instructionally sound content. These laws apply to online sites, apps, and extensions used in the classroom. The Instruction Department will use an Evaluation Rubric when reviewing apps, software and websites. You will be notified by email of a decision.
Use the form linked below to fill out any websites, software, apps or extensions you would like to use with your students, and we will review them for COPPA and FERPA compliance for you. This also includes any new sites or apps that you would like to access via Clever. These are only for sites, apps and extensions that are not already approved.
Before submitting an app or tool for approval, please review the flow chart below. Submitting duplicate apps, software and websites for approval will slow down the process for everyone and create delays in getting the request approved.

You can view the list of District-approved resources on our Approved App Software Website page. Links to privacy policies for these resources are listed on the Approved App Software Website page. Resource pages will be kept current as new websites and apps are added to the list of approved resources.
Please note that not all students use every resource listed. Teachers only use these resources as appropriate for age, subject and grade level.
