Add 4J Gmail Account to Gmail App on Android & iOS

Here’s a quick walkthrough for adding an additional Gmail address to the Gmail mobile app on Android and iOS.

If you’re using Android

  1. Open Gmail and stay on the Inbox of any account already signed in.

  2. Tap your profile picture (top-right corner).

  3. Choose “Add another account.”

  4. Select Google ➜ Continue (if prompted).

  5. Enter the new Gmail address and tap Next.

  6. Type the password, then Next again.

  7. Review the account-permissions screen (scroll for details) and tap I agree.

  8. Decide whether to turn on the optional Google One backup & sync features, then Next/Done.

The inbox refreshes automatically; switch between accounts at any time by tapping your profile photo again and choosing the address you want.

If you’re using iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Gmail.

  2. Tap your profile picture in the upper-right.

  3. Select “Add another account.”

  4. Pick Google ➜ Continue to hand off to Google’s sign-in page.

  5. Type the email address ➜ Next, then the password ➜ Next.

  6. On the “Stay signed in” prompt, tap Yes, I’m in (or adjust as you prefer).

  7. Decide whether to enable Face ID/Touch ID for this mailbox, then Done.

Your new mailbox appears in the account switcher. Gmail will fetch mail in the background as long as iOS notifications and background app refresh are enabled.

Tips & troubleshooting

  • Multiple accounts: You can add as many Google accounts as you like; repeat the same steps for each.

  • Custom labels & notifications: Per-account settings live under Gmail ☰ Menu → Settings → [account]—handy if you need different notification sounds or signatures.

  • Two-step verification: If the account has 2-SV, you’ll be prompted for the second factor (code, prompt, or security key) during step 6.

  • Removing an account later: Profile picture ➜ Manage accounts on this device ➜ Remove.

That’s it—your additional Gmail address is now ready to use in the app!
