Board Lauds Student Successes

Celebrating 4J student achievement was the night's theme at the June 3 school board meeting. Board members and Superintendent Miriam Mickelson recognized the district's state champions in spring sports, the student representatives to the board and the Educational Equity Advisory Committee for the year, and the first 4J student to gain a Seal of Biliteracy in an indigenous language.
High school spring sports state champions: Ellie Cho and Ellie Park, South Eugene, women's doubles tennis; South Eugene women's tennis team (Ellie Cho, Ellie Park, Lily Yao, Ameenah Alrahmani, Sydney Chandler); Cricket Phipps, North Eugene (women's 1500m); Addison Kleinke, Churchill (women's pole vault); Nicholas Miller, Churchill (men's 110m hurdles); Yosuke Shibata, South Eugene (men's 1500m); Malachi Schoenherr, Sheldon (men's 3000m).
